The Boston Police Department @ District 14 in Brighton Center will be hosting it’s annual “Bicycle Safety Day and Open House” at the police station and surrounding streets. This year’s event has a heavy emphasis on bicycle safety for all ages. This event falls on the last day of “BayState Bike Week 2013” and just before the start of summer vacations. We will have on hand expert bicycle safety instructors from local non-profits who will be instructing via obstacle courses, a bike rodeo and an onsite safety lecture. They will be doing bicycle checks, helmet fittings and provide safe rider suggestions. A Safe Bicycle Course ride along the Charles River will also take place at noontime. In addition to our bicycle safety program we will be be having a “Child Safe ID” program, Boston EMS experts will be available to provide Child Safety Seat Installations, Water Safety Instruction will be available, A Bouncey House, Balloons, Ice Cream, Coffee, Healthy snacks and a Kosher and non Kosher Cookout will be provided. A Special visit by “McGruff the Crime Dog”, “Baldwin the Eagle” and the “Boston Terrier Rhett” Demonstration by the BC Eagle EMS team and more. All families and children are welcome to this event.
